Stories From the Sea in JulyHome > Pastor’s Note > Stories From the Sea in July
During the five Sundays of July, we will share in a sermon series the “The Gospel of Mark: Stories From the Sea.” On July 3, the text will be from Mark 3: 7-12, as we will be reminded to have a boat ready. On July 10, our text from Mark 4: 35-41, will have us encounter a stormy sea. On July 17, we will go to the other shore in Mark 5: 1-20. We will see Jesus walk on water on July 24, as told in Mark 6: 45-50. On July 31, we will fish with Jesus as told in Mark 1: 16-20.
During this summer series by the Sea, we will dress more casually to beat the heat and embrace our time by the shore with Jesus. For all of July, I will leave the robe in the office and the dress shirt and tie in the closet. I would encourage you to consider dressing more casual on those Sundays. Perhaps even consider not wearing socks!
