Fall and FairHome > Pastor’s Note > Fall and Fair
There is a great challenge when writing about events in the Fall while it is still August. It is far from looking or feeling like Fall. It is still hot! Many of us are still taking time away. The summer flowers are still in full bloom. Did I mention it is hot!!
Yet despite it being summer, it is time to look forward to the Fall. As with each Fall at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church, there will be so much going on in the life of the church. One particular event I want to mention is the Jackson County Fair and the Caswell Springs Fair Booth.
As many of you know, Caswell Springs Church has operated a booth at the fair since the mid 1950's. Our fair booth is home to the famous Caswell Springs Gumbo and incredible deserts like coconut, lemon and caramel pie. Since not everyone likes gumbo, we also have burgers, chicken strips and fries. Importantly, the money made at the fair booth is ideally used toward special projects at Caswell Springs.
This year we are excited about another week at the fair. This year's fair is October 16 through October 23. The success at the fair booth depends on the faithful and committed work of the volunteers from Caswell Springs that give of their time during that week. I encourage everyone who has worked the fair booth in past years to come again and join us. For those who have never participated in fair week, I invite you to come and be a part of this wonderful ministry of our church and share in this time of fellowship and fun.
I hope to see you there.
Grace and Peace,
