Filling up and overflowing with Christ’s love.
A disciple of Jesus Christ must be like a spring of water. We must remain connected to our source (Jesus Christ) which fills us. At the same time we must overflow what the source gives us (The Gospel message, love, and grace) to the world.
Filling up is finding ways to grow in one’s relationship, trust, and love of Jesus. We do this through Fellowship, Interaction, Living, and Learning:
Fellowship - We are filled with Christ’s love as we gather as a family to enjoy each other’s company and share in each other’s lives through meals, concerts, festivals, and fun.
Interact - We are filled with Christ’s love as we interact with God through prayer, meditation, and sacraments.
Living Worship - We are filled with Christ’s love as we worship God through song sermons, prayers, hymns, and other corporate acts of worship.
Learn - We are filled with Christ’s love as we seek to provide quality opportunities to learn God’s Word and God’s will through Sunday school and other small group learning experiences.
We are overflowing when we take our faith and live it out in the world. We do this as we Offer, Volunteer, Exit, and Reveal:
Offer - We overflow Christ’s love as we offer Jesus to those who do not know him.
Volunteer - We overflow Christ’s love as we volunteer in the community to help those in need.
Exit - We overflow Christ’s love as we take Christ with us as we exit the church building. God never intended for the faithful to make a holy huddle on Sunday. We take this seriously and we can be found throughout our community and around the world doing missions.
Reveal - We overflow Christ’s love as we reveal Christ through teaching God’s word to our children or leading Sunday school class and small groups.
To be a true disciple of Jesus, we must be both FILLing up and OVERflowing with Christ’s love.
