Each week His Way Ministries cooks and delivers meals to elderly and disabled community members as well as to those who are experiencing temporary hardships such as injury, surgery, or sickness. We also help new moms after childbirth.
Thirteen teams deliver between 110 and 130 meals each week along with a written daily devotion. Our interdenominational volunteers not only deliver meals, but they also provide a brief reprieve from loneliness with a friendly visit as they share God's word. This ministry is funded through donations from church members and the community.
Our Mission Team does a wide variety of community outreach. Supported through food drives, fundraisers and donations, we maintain a food pantry for local families in need. We provide staple foods, canned goods, and home necessities such as paper products and cleaning supplies. The Mission Team also assists with temporary needs such as medical costs and home expenses.
In addition to local causes in our community, we have provided support for Mission of Hope Ministries, Home of Grace, Special Olympics, Haiti disaster relief, pro-life efforts, orphanages, and mission trips.
Backpack Buddies of East Central
CSUMC is a proud partner of Backpack Buddies of East Central, a program that provides food for local children in need. It is estimated that up to 100 local school children are undernourished over the weekends because often the only food they receive is through school breakfasts and lunches. Backpack Buddies is a volunteer organization that provides nutritious meals and snacks to supplement the needs of these children. The program is dependent on the generous donations of local businesses, churches and community members. Here are a few ways you can help:
- Donate food
- Donate money
- Volunteer to help transport and shelve food
- Sponsor a child
- Coordinate a food drive or fundraiser
- Pray for the children and their families
